Mrs. Johnson’s Newsletter For November 17, 2008 Verses: We are starting some Christmas verses with Luke 2:8-9“Now there were in the same country shepherds living out in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night. And behold, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them and they were greatly afraid.” Bible: We will go over a Thanksgiving Psalm with David and the Lord Jesus. With this Psalm 150, I will be teaching the children a choral reading that we will perform in chapel next Tuesday. Future Events: On November 22 at the Mall we have been invited by the Salvation Army to play bells and sing. Please sign the form if your child could attend at 2:00 PM. Also, on December 1st, the K-5 and First grade class will be going to the Rescue Mission to sing and play bells. If you could help drive that day, let me know. On December 13th at 1:30 PM at the Mall, the whole school will be singing for the “Sounds of Christmas”on the radio. Let me know by signing the form on Paw Prints if your child can attend then. Whew!! Christmas CD: Please practice with the CD and sing those songs. The children sound wonderful with songs # 3, 9, 13, 17,19, Math: Clocks, and measurement with feet and inches. We will start the eight family and Rocketship Math. Please send back the form each day in the folder. Spelling: Lesson 10 is for next week and the tests are set for Wednesday and Thursday. The list includes: her, serve, purse, burn, curl, turn, dirt, first, girl, sir, stir, shirt, third, said, have. History: The Pilgrims, Indians, Squanto, Massachusetts, Plymouth Rock.
